The Teen Development & Growth Program Community Service Project
The teens from the Teen Development and Growth Program of Family of Humanity, Inc. (FOH) visited the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) on Saturday, September 12 and presented them with a hand made “Hope Quilt” and plaque for the families who reside at the House.
The Ronald McDonald House located at 15 SE 15th Street Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316 provides a “home-away-from home,” being a temporary lodging facility for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. At the RMH families can prepare meals, do laundry, and meet with other families in similar situations helping them get through one of the most difficult time of their lives.
The U.S. Century Bank in Hollywood sponsored the “HOPE” Quilt project with a generous donation of $1000 which provided art materials, supplies and an educator to complete the quilt. Gerardo Mederos, Vice President and Branch Manager of the Hollywood Branch as well as Treasurer of the FOH Board presented a plaque to Stacie Davis, Weekend Manager at RMH as a token of appreciation and goodwill for the partnership fostered between RMH and FOH. The hand crafted quilt and plaque is now on display for all the families in the family room at the RMH.
