Family of Humanity, Inc. is a growing 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt nonprofit community-based organization with a passion for individuals living in low income communities. The organization operates three customized programs in various communities located in Broward County which are intended to meet behavioral needs and influence positive change. We provide after-school academic, enrichment, and advancement programs for low income children and teenagers which include literacy, social competency and pro-social behavior development skills, self-esteem improvement, positive self-image development, career opportunities and employment skills, and various art disciplines. The parent education program is offered to parents equipping them with tools to increase their knowledge of child development and to foster positive parenting strategies and parenting skills.

What we do is so unique due to the small size of each program; 10-12 students per class, offering our programs in the areas where our clients live and most importantly; offering all our programs to our clients in the three programs we provide free of cost to families eliminating the need to pay tuition and program fees while at the same time providing growth and learning opportunities.

The Health Realization Model Concept Trainings for professionals, and the general public using the Health Realization Model

In addition to providing 3 diverse programs to our clients in low income areas for free, the Health Realization Model Concept is adopted and incorporated into all of our programs as a method of teaching our clients. The concept is a principle based psychology that sees people as “at promise” instead of “at risk” and helps them recognize the health within themselves.

Training and development seminars are offered to corporations of all types and sizes as well as agencies of all kinds, including government.

We offer this training as a development seminar to the general public, government agencies and businesses as an earned income piece in an effort to expand our cause to empower even more individuals.

Family of Humanity, Inc recognizes A.D. Henderson for awarding us a $10,000 grant as seed money to start the 2009 Teen Development and Growth program!

A Bullying Prevention Literacy component of the H.U.G. program was added to the program this year, 2009. 
Reading stories exposes H.U.G participants to various styles of writing. It gives them an opportunity to openly express their views about bullying, being aware of it, signs of bullying behavior and how to stop and prevent it.

Art is incorporated into both the Teen Development and Growth Program and the H.U.G. programs as a method to have youth learn while they are having fun.
